'Thor 3' to Have a Female Villain? [Release Date, Cast, Plot & Rumors]

It has been confirmed that Thor will be one of the two Avengers that will be missing during the time of "Captain America: Civil War," the other being the Hulk.

According to Cinemablend, "Thor 3: Ragnarok" will be showing audiences why the Asgardian Thunder God will not be joining his fellow Avengers during the fight between Iron Man and Captain America.

However, there are also rumors stating that "Thor 3" will be doing something that hasn't yet been done in a Marvel film, and that makes a woman the main villain of the movie. While it is weird to think that there haven't been many female super villains see in the MCU, "Thor 3" might be a great place to start.

So far, it would make sense to have a new villain haunt Thor for a while since Loki was seen posing as Odin All Father during the confusion of the last film and he could be trying to keep up appearances.

Screen Rant states that currently several names for the female villain have already popped up. One such big name is Cate Blanchet who is no stranger in playing a villain, the Australian actress played one of the head Nazis during the last Indiana Jones film "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

Currently, there has been no news on which of Thor's female enemies would be a good fit for the movie. However, fortunately, one does seem to hit the mark, and that would be the character named Enchantress.

Enchantress in the comics is actually another Asgardian who attempted to learn magic from a young age for evil purposes. The Enchantress also has been known to team up with Loki and attempt to take over all of Asgard.

Considering that Enchantress and Loki have teamed up in the past, the character can be introduced easily now that Loki is pretending to be the all-father.

Another possible female villain for the film is Knorda who is also a strong Asgardian who eventually became the queen of the mountain giants. While the mountain giants aren't exactly explained yet in the MCU they could be changed to the Frost Giants, which would then give the Asgardians reasons to fight them.

While there is no news yet on who the villain be or what the storyline is going to include, but Marvel Studios' head Kevin Feige has promised fans that more information will be made available in the near future.

"Thor: Ragnarok" is set for release on Nov. 3, 2017.
