The "Walking Dead" has officially signed on Hollywood veteran Jeffrey Dean Morgan to play the role of the villainous Negan for season 6 of the hit TV show.

According to The Hollwood Reporter, Morgan is set to be a guest star for season 6, as it has been revealed that Negan will not show up until the season ender. He will be a series regular starting season 7. Morgan has been a series regular on several different shows in the past. His accolades include "Supernatural," "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Good Wife."

For those who do not know who Negan is, he is the leader of a villainous group of survivors who call themselves the Saviors. The Saviors are a notorious band of thugs who use force and intimidation to subjugate other survivor communities. The Saviors have already done this to Alexandria, the current camp where Rick and his group find themselves in.

Superhero Hype reports that Negan will be sporting his signature barbed wired baseball bat Lucille, but his dialogue may need to be cleaned up a bit for it to be shown on TV. However, it might not need too much cleaning up as the show does air on AMC.

The confirmation of Negan's inclusion in the cast may shine a small glimmer of hope for fans of Glenn, who still believe that the character is alive after supposedly meeting his fate early into season 6. However, with the inclusion of Negan, Glenn still might not have much longer to live if he is still alive.

To delve further into the character of Negan, spoilers might be revealed. Readers, you have been warned.

As stated previously, Negan is the leader of the Saviors, who have been exploiting Alexandria for nearly half of its supplies for a long time. Upon hearing this, Rick and some of his group try and reason with the Saviors, only to be brutally ambushed outside of Alexandria.

To prove a point, Negan declares that he will kill one of Rick's group and randomly picks Glenn. Even after trying to talk his way out of it, Negan proceeds to bash Glenn's head in with Lucille. Seeing that Morgan will only be introduced at the end of season 6, and assuming Glenn is still alive, this event might end up happening during season 7.

Currently, the "Walking Dead" season 6 is still airing on AMC.
