“Attack on Titan” is currently in development under Koemi Tecmo and Omega Force. Reportedly, the game will have the same feel and appearance as the anime series.

Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu reported that “Attack on Titan” will add more playable characters to the roster. Several familiar characters from the anime and manga series have been confirmed to join the list, while a few screen shots emerged, showing some fan favorites. Some of the additions include Bertolt Hoover, Reiner Braun and Annie Leonhart, who had secret identities as titans in the manga. 104th Trainees Squad members Krista Lenz and Ymir will also be added.

In the screenshots, there were also non-playable characters, tactical attacks and new environments. The images presented the same training to eliminate Titans as featured in the anime. There were action photos showing the main characters battling Titans. The gameplay adaptation seemed similar to the fights shown in the series. For example, the 3D Maneuver Gear used to position fighters in key points to gain the advantage against the Titans can also exhaust its gas. Repeatedly using the blades will result to these getting dull, similar to the manga and anime, Yibada noted.

In the trailer, Survey Corp members used the 3D Maneuver Gear to attack Titans. The equipment allowed them to soar and attack weak points to cause maximum damage. The game is inspired by the first season of the anime series, Game Spot wrote. Not a lot of details about the game have been provided in the meantime, but the footage hinted that the story may follow the Dynasty Warriors format of going from one point to another in a huge battlefield and destroying enemies along the way. Titans will most likely appear as boss-type enemies.

The game developer has an “Attack on Titan” Treasure Pack available in Japan, which is a limited edition package. The unique pack includes the official soundtrack, two sets of tin badges for Levi, Mikasa and Eren, one scarf, an Official Investigation Record Collection and special costumes that can be acquired via download codes. Fans may also avail of the standard version of the upcoming game.

Koemi and Omega Force are reportedly doing their best to provide a game that will meet fans’ expectations.

“Attack on Titan” will be playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The launch date was already announced in Japan before the end of 2015. The game will most likely become available in North America and Europe sometime in 2016.
