The new Android 6.0 Marshmallow is set to roll out to several devices in the coming months. LG confirmed that many of its products will be making the upgrade soon, particularly a few from the LG G series.

Yibada reported that there are rumors that the Android Marshmallow will become available on the LG G Flex 2, G G3, LG G4 and LG G Stylo soon. GSM Arena wrote that LG already confirmed that the said devices will have the OS update. The company is expected to announce a release date soon.

Chris Ye, head of LG marketing communications and vice president of LG Mobile Communication Company, previously stated that the LG G4 will be the first non-Nexus LG handset to receive the OS update. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow debuted on the Nexus 5X, which was developed by LG, and the Nexus 6P, which was developed by Huawei.

Android 6.0 M will be available via over-the-air (OTA) update. LG G4 will be the first in the line to receive the new version, while LG G Flex 2, LG G3 and LG G Stylo will follow shortly after. The LG G4 was supposed to get the update in Poland in October but the release date was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. Apparently, LG is having a number of major technical problems, resulting in the temporary delay of the roll out. Many users remain optimistic that they will receive a notification before the end of 2015. Neurogadget revealed that U.S. carriers like Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint will most likely take hold of the Android M as well and move on from the current Android Lollipop.

BGR wrote that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring a wide array of features and capabilities that will improve device performance as well as boost overall user experience. Some of the expected features include Now on Tap, Android Pay, Permissions Management, Doze and App Standby, SD Cards being merged with internal storage, App Links, native fingerprint authentication, theming support, user interface tweaks, customizable quick toggles, USB Type C support, native 4K output support, a new “Memory” section in Settings, security features, bug fixes and many more.

After releasing in Poland, the update will become available in Europe, America and Asia. Other countries will most likely receive the update early in 2016. More details and announcements are set to come in the following weeks. Other LG users may also receive news if their device will also get the update.
