The weight is over, so they say, as another "Kung Fu Panda 3" trailer was released, to the delight of the movie franchise's fans.

"Directed by Jennifer Yuh and Alessandro Carloni, the film finds Po (Jack Black) stumbling upon his father Li (Bryan Cranston), who reveals to him the existence of a community of pandas living in secret," Collider noted.

The new clip showed Po reuniting, complete with belly bumps, with his father and visiting the panda village, where he finds a whole group of creatures that look just like him. Now, he no longer feels out of place.

A new villain was also introduced in the video, described to be "a little too chatty for Po to deal with when the time comes for their final confrontation," /FILM said.

Kai, played by "Whiplash" star J.K. Simmons, is seen to be "the reason Po has to step up from student to teacher, so his new panda friends can stand up to the mystical villains."

Considering that the pandas in the village are not exactly warriors, Po appears to be facing a huge task.

"Clearly clumsiness runs in the panda family as they initially seem to be just as hopeless as Po was when he first started his training," the site observed.

However, that job is made a bit lighter with the help of the Furious Five, which will be voiced by the same actors from the first two films - Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Angelina Jolie, David Cross, and Seth Rogen. Dustin Hoffman also reprised his role as Master Shifu.

Kate Hudson is also among the movie's cast, as she voices the panda Mei Mei, who was described as a "results-oriented" and determined panda who "always gets her way," according to MailOnline. She also is the panda who Po was arranged to marry since they were still kids.

Originally, Rebel Wilson was supposed to play Mei Mei, but due to conflicts in her work schedule, she had to bow out of the project.

Luckily, the makers of the film found a suitable replacement in Hudson, who had experience in voice acting via "Ice Age: Continental Drift."

"Mei Mei is described as a 'crazy, ribbon-dancing panda - the movie series' first female panda lead - who is romantically obsessed with Po," MailOnline added in another piece.

The sequel's co-director, Jennifer Yuh, revealed the reason behind the choice of Kai as the third installment's villain.

"You can't go brawler because Tai Lung was brawler," she said of the first film's baddie, as noted by ScreenRant. "You can't go smarter because Shen was smarter. Where can you go? You have to go supernatural, bigger, and even more intimidating."

"Kung Fu Panda 3" will drop in theaters in January 2016.
