After months of speculation and talk about the film adaptation of E.L. James' bestselling erotic thriller '50 Shades of Grey,' it looks like the film may finally be moving ahead. The British author is reportedly back in Los Angeles and is meeting with producers Dana Brunetti and Mike De Luca.

On Sunday, James tweeted, "That has to be the quickest I've ever been thru LAX." Shortly afterwards, producer Brunetti tweeted to his followers, "Mother Nature has done a great job making LA mimic London for @E_L_James arrival."

While it is improbable that the production team is meeting up to discuss potential casting decisions, the rare LA appearance of the British could signify a move forward in the filming process, Examiner reported. According to the news site, any upcoming news about the film will most likely be about the nominations for a director.

Brunetti also let his Twitter followers that he had met up with '50 Shades' screenwriter Kelly Marcel late last week. "I had lunch with @MissMarcel yesterday," he tweeted. "This is her copy of Fifty Shades of Grey." The tweet included a photo of Marcel's copy of the bestseller filled with different colored tabs.

The 'Terra Nova' screenwriter also spent some time with the British author, she told Twitter fans on Monday. "Very rock n roll evening with @E_L_James last night," Marcel wrote. According to Examiner, Marcel is expected to begin writing the screenplay for the highly anticipated film this December.

As for casting decisions, James has previously told reporters that it could take some time before anything is decided on. Speculation over who will play the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele have run rampant since Universal Pictures and Focus Films purchased the rights to the film earlier this year.

The first film in the series, '50 Shades of Grey,' does not have a projected theatrical release yet.
