John Cena Returning to WWE in December? Here's Everything We Know So Far!

It has been barely a week since John Cena officially went on vacation after expectedly losing to a returning Alberto Del Rio at WWE Hell in a Cell, yet talks about his return are already flying.

Cena took some time off in what he says is for personal reasons and there was no official word on when he would return. His sudden decision to take a hiatus comes a surprise for many, especially at a time when the WWE finds itself suffering from poor ratings.

Rather than sulk, however, Cena's time away is seen as something that would benefit the people backstage. These came no less from Cena himself, who reportedly told some people within the company that his absence is a 'good thing' and that the real reason behind is break will be revealed in due time.

Though there was no official word on when he will come back, a probable month of his return seems to be this December. There are actually two dates mentioned as his probable comeback appearance.

One is potentially at the WWE TLC event, which will happen on December 13 at the TD Garden in Boston, Cena's hometown. It would be the perfect time for the Cenation leader's return, and it is believed that he will likely get his rematch for the United States championship against Alberto Del Rio.

If not on December 13, Cena could alternatively return on December 26 in a post-Christmas show. Cena is advertised to appear on the December 26 live event, which will be held at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Given a choice, however, the first one seems to be a more fitting return for the WWE star.

For now, all these are not definite. There could be changes made by the WWE in the coming months, so take this with a grain of salt for now.

As for the WWE stars who could benefit from Cena's absence, it seems that the one who is being given the boost is Roman Reigns.

Reigns has emerged as the no.1 contender to Seth Rollins' WWE Heavyweight title, and this could be the push that the WWE has been long planning.

Reigns could have been champion as early as Wrestlemania 31, but the WWE apparently saw the negativity stemming from the Big Dog's lack of talent behind the microphone.

Having feuded with Bray Wyatt since losing at WWE Money in the Bank, it looks like the WWE feels that Reigns is ready for the main event niche. Could he snag the WWE title away from his old Shield comrade at WWE Survivor series happening on November 22?
