While T-Mobile customers have largely been left out of the 'iPhone 5 mania' loop, there's plenty of indicators that things will be improving soon for T-Mobile users. Apple has started selling the unlocked iPhone 5, an analyst believes T-Mobile will be releasing its own version of the iPhone 5 soon, and T-Mobile is catering to iPhone users on its network with new accessories.
Interested buyers can head over to Apple's online store to pick up an unlocked iPhone 5 in either black or white. The 16GB model costs $649, the 32GB version costs $749, and the 64GB variant will set you back $849. Apple states that all of the models in both colors will be available to ship within one week.
According to a report from Fortune, Merrill Lynch analyst Scott Craig believes that T-Mobile will be releasing its own iPhone 5 sometime in the near future.
"Now Merrill Lynch's Scott Craig is out with a note reporting that "speculation is heightening" that Deutsche Telecom (DT) will announce a deal to bring the iPhone to its U.S. subsidiary at next week's analysts day (12/6-7)," reads the article.
On top of it all, the folks over at TMONews have discovered that T-Mobile stores will begin receiving iPhone 5 accessories to sell. Nothing extraordinary, but a nice gesture for the 1.5-million iPhone users on T-Mobile's network.
T-Mobile recently began beefing up its network by improving connection speeds for iPhone users in 10 metropolitan areas. While unlocked iPhones work on T-Mobile's network, they are relegated to 2G speeds. The new upgrade will allow users in the coverage areas to utilize 3G speeds.
If you're a T-Mobile user, all signs are pointing to an inevitable T-Mobile iPhone release. It's been a long wait, but the T-Mobile iPhone drought should be over soon.
