For the first time in ages, or three years in real time, British singer Adele has given her first interview.

She did not disappoint - she opened up personal details, as well as never-before-known information about her upcoming album, "25."

"I think the album is about trying to clear out the past," she carefully explained to i-D. "Becoming a parent and moving past my mid-twenties, I simply don't have the capacity to worry about as many things that I used to really enjoy worrying about."

She also went on to reveal that, in making her new record, she did not want to make it another "21," her multi-million selling hit album that spawned a string of hits.

"I definitely wasn't going to write a heartbreak record 'cause I'm not heartbroken, but I probably won't be able to better the one I did, so what's the point?" she mused. "Also, how I felt when I wrote 21, it ain't worth feeling like that again."

Interestingly, she further revealed that her first single, "Hello," is not a continuation of "Someone Like You."

"That's over and done with," the mother-of-one said, as noted by Time. "That's been over and done with for f****** years."

"No, it's not about anyone specifically. It's about friends, ex-boyfriends, it's about myself, it's about my family," she went on. "It's also about my fans as well. I feel like everyone thinks I'm so far away and I'm not."

"The song is about hurting someone's feelings but it's also about trying to stay in touch with myself, which sometimes can be a little bit hard to do," she elaborated. "It's about a yearning for the other side of me. When I'm away, I really, really miss my life at home."

"'Hello' is about wanting to be at home and wanting to reach out to everyone I've ever hurt - including myself - and apologise for it," she added.

Her interviewer was lucky enough to hear 7 songs from the new album , aside from "Hello" - "I Miss You," "When We Were Young," "A Million Years Ago," "River Lea," "Remedy," "Send My Love To Your New Lover," and "All I Ask."

The interview also revealed she had worked with Bruno Mars on a song, which Adele said made her sing like never before.

"I've never sung so hard in me whole life," she said. "Can you imagine the fun me and Bruno had making that?"

Funnily enough, she revealed she achieved so much success without having even known Max Martin, who has been regarded as one of the top songwriter in the industry today. She ended up working with him on one track in the album.
