Binge-drinkers are in luck! One of this season's blooming fruit will cure your Halloween hangover. Pears are in abundance this season so grab a few before pounding brewskies this month.

In a report released by Horticulture Innovation Australia via Medical Daily News, pears and pear juice may be able to prevent the terrible feeling of being hungover. Initially reports were first released with research regarding the use of pear juice and its calming effects when taken pre-flip cup.

In July 2015, researchers found a 7.4-ounce drink of pear juice reduced the horrible side-effects of a night of debaucherous drinking by 16 to 21 percent when drinkers had pear juice before their first glass of wine or scotch. "Hangover severity, as measured by a 14 item hangover symptom scale, was significantly reduced in the Korean pear group compared to those having a placebo drink," said Manny Noakes, research director of nutrition and health at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, in a press release.

Now, researchers have discovered the same beneficial effects of pear juice can be found in pears as long as the fruit or fruit juice is ingested before alcohol. As Medical Daily explains, "alcohol triggers a domino effect of inflammatory responses in your immune system, producing physical symptoms like the inability to concentrate, memory problems, decreased appetite, or loss of interest in every day activities. Alcohol also makes the stomach produce more acid, which can lead to abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting. Blood sugar levels also drop as a result of drinking, causing drinkers to feel tired, weak, shaky, and moody."

So what is it about pears that has created a glorious solution to self-induced misery? That is still being researched, however if some readers are skeptical to try the pear-option before taking a few to the head, there are still some other explained solutions to help deal with the physical traces of a night of drinking.

Bananas are a great solution, offering a ton of potassium to make up for the copious amounts of water and potassium that is depleted when consuming alcohol. A Bloody Mary can also do the trick. The vitamin C found in tomato juice contains "glutathione, the same substance your body produces to help counteract toxins released during a hangover."

Nice! Looks like fruits are the way to go.
