HTC's Latest Flagship A9 Coming Next Week? [Release Date, Specs, Features & Rumors]

HTC is set to unveil a new smartphone on October 20 with the HTC One A9 that will be held over at New York City.

Invites for the new HTC line will mean that the company will somehow move to a new series which could be somehow positioned in the middle to high end class.

The answer to that could very well boil down to the specs that the device will have to offer. Thanks to a listing (reportedly accidental) over at the Orange website, we now know the specs of the upcoming phone.

The listing enumerates the features of the HTC One A9. This includes

• 5-inch (1920x1080p) Full HD Display
• 13 MP main camera
• 4 MP front-facing camera
• Will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

While the specs seem to be a bit incomplete, another listing spotted over at GFXBench reveals a more complete list of what the HTC One A9 carries. Apart from the ones listed via Orange, it will also have:

• Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC processor
• 2GB of RAM
• 16GB of internal storage

Now aside from those features, it is expected that the device will have the usual features like Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi and NFC. The phone will be clad in an aluminum shell which should make it another interesting mobile device to consider. It will also be available in different color variants such as gold, silver, gray, red and yellow).

With regards to its suggested retail price, the HTC One A9 carries a price tag of roughly $686 after Euro conversion. It should be noted as well that pricing could change depending on what region/s it becomes available.

There are high expectations for the HTC One A9, especially with the flop of the HTC One M9. Could this turn things around for HTC? Well apparently the company is pinning its hopes and hopefully the device will add some sanity back in the HTC fold.

However, doing that may not be easy considering it has to face other similar smartphones from its rivals like Samsung and Apple. While the pricing standpoint does seem a bit cheaper, the thing is that HTC will have to admit the fact that shades of its previous phones that disappointed will linger in the consumer’s minds.

Still and all, the fact that many are highly anticipating it is a good thing. Hopefully it does live up to the hype and turn out to be a well-awaited phone to consider getting.
