In a few months, "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" will finally hit theaters, and we'll all put those speculations to rest. However, since we're still currently waiting for the movie to come out, we only have the rumor mill and info leaks to keep us company until the flick finally plays.

Speaking of the latter, there are a number of theories and spoilers about the big-budget project circulating right now. Let's round them up and mull them over, shall we?

Superheroes in the Desert

There's a desert scene a trailer of "Batman vs Superman" that got fans speculating various scenarios. That scene involved "a bunch of things like soldiers with Superman symbol patches, Batman, and soldiers bowing down to Superman himself," Movie Pilot noted.

Some have since taken to concluding that the sequence was part of Bruce Wayne's nightmare that showed him what could happen if Superman followed a darker path. This reportedly is what pushed the Dark Night to go against the Man of Steel. There's no confirmation about this theory yet, though.

Joker - Robin Gone Bad?

A shot in a "Dawn of Justice" trailer showed a burnt Robin costume sprayed with The Joker's signature message. On closer examination, it appears there are puncture wounds on both shoulders, which reportedly "roughly correspond to marks on Joker's shoulders," Den of Geek relayed.

"Therefore, the Joker of the Suicide Squad movie is actually a former Robin gone bad," the site speculated.

However, there's a hole in this hypothesis, as explained by Den of Geek.

"The Robin costume that's enshrined in the Batcave and defaced by Joker graffiti is intended to evoke the second Robin, Jason Todd, who was beaten to death and left in an exploding warehouse by the Joker in the story 'A Death in the Family,'" the news portal continued. "Robin's death (which came at a time before major superheroes were routinely killed off) is as important to Batman history as Dark Knight Returns, and this movie seems like it's looking to encompass as many of these iconic bat-moments as possible."

"With that in mind, this interesting but out there fan theory doesn't seem to hold up under scrutiny," the site concluded.

A Broken Batman

Ben Affleck, who plays Batman in the movie, said that director Zack Snyder pitched him an "older, more broken, kind of f**ked up Batman. It was something we haven't seen," as quoted by Franchise Herald.

"We are playing him 45 or 46," the director agreed. "He has been Batman for 20 years. All the history is there. Was there a Robin at one time? Possibly."

Looks like we'll be seeing a rather off-kilter superhero facing off Superman - could this state of mind be why he has gone on to think of the Man of Steel as the enemy?

Lex Luthor vs Bruce Wayne

Spoiler ahead! Stop reading right now if you want to steer clear!

Robin will reportedly be in the movie, and he is a she - according to low paid extras seeking to get more cash by spilling the beans to the media.

Further, as relayed by Cinema Blend, there will be a "physical confrontation between Lex Luthor (played by Jesse Eisenberg) and Bruce Wayne (played by Ben Affleck)," as a scene showing such an altercation was reportedly shot. It must be noted that it is Wayne as the billionaire and not the masked avenger who took on Luthor.

"The military will respond because of the conflict, and that there will be fireworks, paparazzi and 'heavy special effects,'" the source reportedly revealed.

Alfred Is Older Bruce Wayne?

There's been talk alleging that Batman's butler may be an older Batman passing on his knowledge, skills, and equipment to a younger guy, What Culture said. What do you think of theory?
