The upcoming role-playing game "Final Fantasy XV" will be releasing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016.

Gamespot previously reported that Square Enix will make an announcement regarding the launch date of "FF XV" in March 2016. A special event will be held in spring 2016 where the game developers will showcase the exact launch date, together with more game details and updates. "Final Fantasy XV" was first announced at E3 2006 at Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Development has taken years and there are talks that Square Enix is planning to release the game simultaneously around the globe.

Recently, Yibada revealed that "Final Fantasy 15" will to feature switching weapons. Gamerant wrote that a feature involved in the automatic switching of weapons in "Episode Duscae" was taken out from the final game. Before, the automatic system allow a variety of combination attacks and different weapons. Removing the feature will allow gamers to pick their own weapons and switch these anytime during the game via a direction controller button. The adjustment in weapon switching will let players gain more freedom and options during offense. Players can customize weapons to use when they intend to counter and raid using the customization button.

Hajime Tabata, Director of Square Enix, also told Gematsu that they may have female characters join the party as guests. The party is actually fully comprised of males, so their behavior can change in the presence of a female guest.

Furthermore, a preview of the upcoming game featured the Kingdom of Lucis which will agree to a ceasefire with Niflheim. However, the deal still falls apart after it was discovered that the other party entered such agreement in bad faith.

The upcoming game has been in development since 2006. Players expect redesigned battle systems as well as a masterful storyline that made the previous installments very popular. The combat system will reportedly have no load screens or transitions. Players can avoid combat by running away from an enemy before the timer runs out. There will be familiar creatures to summon too. Gamerant stated that "FF XV" will feature an open-world setting and action-based gameplay. Players will take on the role of Noctis Lucis Caelum, the crown prince of Lucis, and will explore various places with the ultimate goal of acquiring the crystal to his kingdom and defeat a great enemy.

More updates and details on "Final Fantasy 15" are expected in the coming months.
