Selena Gomez finally broke her silence and revealed that she has lupus and that she underwent chemotherapy.

Gomez definitely dropped a big bomb when she admitted about her condition. The "Good For You" singer said that she has lupus and had to undergo chemotheraphy for it. It was two years ago when reports that Selena had lupus first broke, Huffington Post reported. However, the singer nor her reps that time did not confirm or deny the issue. Now, the singer has decided to finally break her silence and talk about her autoimmune condition.

"I was diagnosed with lupus, and I've been through chemotherapy. That's what my break was really about. I could've had a stroke," Gomez said.

Selena referred to a period between 2013 and 2014 when the singer had to cancel the Australian and Asian leg of her Star Dance tour. This led to rumors that the pop singer was dealing with addiction that time.

Soon after, reports that Gomez checked in a rehab facility emerged. Her representatives did confirm that the singer was confined at Dawn at the Meadows recovery facility in Arizona, citing that "emotional issues" and "partying" was the reason for her confinement. While she was in the facility for two weeks, Gomez also underwent chemotherapy for her lupus.

In a report by Entertainment Online, Gomez said that she badly wanted to announce that she was in chemotherapy to diss all the haters. She also admitted that she had to lock herself away until she was confident again.

"I wanted so badly to say, 'You guys have no idea. I'm in chemotherapy. You're assholes.' I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again," the singer revealed. Gomez, who is no stranger to all the hate and bashing, said that she learned how to channel her frustrations and anger to music. The singer said that she has been nice to everyone and worked since she was seven but everyone seems "vile" to her.

"I'm so f--king nice to everybody, and everyone is so vile to me. I've been working since I was 7. I've been a UNICEF ambassador since I was 17. It's so disappointing that I've become a tabloid story," Gomez said.

However, the hate motivated her to do more for her music. At the moment, Selena is back and better than ever with her upcoming album "Revival." Her new tracks "Same Old Love" and "Good For You" drew fans and suggested that the singer might be venturing to a new kind of sound.
