The LG Nexus 5X is expected to start shipping in October 2015. Fans are expecting that the LG G4 Pro will rely on the hype of the 5X and also be released shortly.

Yibada reported that LG’s version of the Nexus 5X smartphone will hopefully strengthen its partnership with Google. The popularity of the Nexus 5X will most likely be used by LG to showcase the new LG G4 Pro phablet.

A GFXBench presentation showed that the upcoming phablet has the model number H900. It will have a 5.7-inch quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and will be powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, Adreno 418 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The device may run on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box, although an upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to follow. The device will have 64GB of internal memory expandable via microSD. It will have a 16-megapixel back camera with 4K video capture and a 5-megapixel front shooter for video chat and selfies.

GSM Arena cited that the noticeable difference from the LG G4 are the enhanced QHD resolution, bigger screen, and higher RAM. The LG G4 has a 5.5-inch display with QHD and 3GB of RAM. Most of the features of the G4 Pro are the same as the standard model. There also a wide array of sensors.

Compared to the iPhone 6 Plus which released in September 2014, the LG G4 Pro has several more powerful features. The iPhone 6 Plus has a dual-core 1.4GHz Typhoon (ARM v8-based) chipset, 1GB of DDR R3 RAM and a quad-core PowerVR GX6450 graphics unit. It has a 5.5-inch display with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 with 401ppi. The Apple smartphone runs on the iOS 8 and comes in three variants – 16GB, 64GB and 128GB of internal memory. The LG G4 Pro’s cameras are also more powerful, since the iPhone 6 Plus has an 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 1.2-megapixel front camera, GSM Arena reported.

Both smartphones have a wide array of connective and camera features and capabilities. Apple may have the edge in terms of apps and battery life. The LG G4 Pro is expected to retail at around $819, while the Apple iPhone 6 Plus of $749 for the 16GB model.

There are talks that the LG G4 Pro will release on Oct. 1, 2015, together with the LG V10. An official confirmation from LG is expected to come out soon.
