Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 has been a best-selling phablet, selling over five million units since its launch. While most major U.S. carriers have already been selling the smartphone It's been a long wait for Verizon customers. Today, November 27, however, is the day that Verizon finally ships out its Galaxy Note 2 pre-orders.

Verizon has been taking Galaxy Note 2 pre-orders for around a month now, and still has the ship date listed as "By 11/27." Keep in mind that Verizon means that if you have pre-ordered the phablet, it should be sent out by today, not that it will arrive on your doorstep on November 27.

Calls to various Verizon stores around Manhattan in New York confirmed that the Galaxy Note 2 is still not available for purchase in stores. Instead, multiple representatives informed us that Verizon brick and mortar stores would start selling the Galaxy Note 2 on November 29. Be sure to call your local store first to make sure they have it in stock since supply restrictions may cause the launch to be slightly staggered across stores.

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2 costs $299.99 with a standard two-year contract. It will come with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean pre-installed. You can order one online through Verizon's store.

Verizon has been incredibly slow in launching the Galaxy Note 2 probably because it has had its attention focused on its collaboration with HTC. The HTC Droid DNA is another massive smartphone, featuring a 1080p 5-inch display versus the Galaxy Note 2's 5.55-inch screen. Verizon even held a Droid DNA launch event, and launched it a week ahead of the Galaxy Note 2 - probably to net some Black Friday shoppers.

While this is sour news for Galaxy Note 2 fans, it won't be too long before Verizon customers will be utilizing the nation's largest LTE network on a 1.6GHz quad-core beast. Just don't mind the carrier logo stamped on the home button.
