Throughout its long history, the Justice League has had its fair share of villains to fight. These villains have to be the strongest, meanest villains in the DC Comics Universe. They have to be super tough to fight DC's strongest heroes.

However, when the "Justice League" movie was announced, many fans were left wondering who exactly would DC's mightiest heroes fight against in their first film? Marvel had their superhero team fight against Loki and the forces of Chitauri. While Loki was the first villain that the Avengers fought, most moviegoers were not aware who exactly the Chitauri were.

It seems that DC may follow Marvel in choosing the villain, as rumors are circulating that long-time Superman villain Brainiac will be the team's first major villain. While the character may be easily accepted by comic book fans, many non-comic book readers might not know who the villain is exactly.

Heroic Hollywood has reported that the character has been long connected to the film and to the "Man of Steel" sequel. This would make a lot of sense as the character is mainly a Superman villain. What has been reported is that Brainiac will be going to Earth to capture Supergirl, who is Superman's cousin who also survived the fall of Krypton. While on Earth and after capturing Supergirl, Brainiac is able to take parts of her DNA and create the villain known as Bizzaro, who is a warped, backwards version of Superman.

According to Screen Rant, anyone who is talking about the "Justice League" movie is whispering that it is indeed Brainiac who will be its first villain.

For those who are not familiar with the character, Brainiac is a robotic alien computer who boasts of a 12th level intelligence. This means that the character is just about the smartest character in the DC universe. With this level of intelligence, Brainiac also sports several other powers, such as super strength, telekinesis, force fields and ability to control technology.

In most variations of the character, he goes from planet to planet destroying entire civilizations and collecting one city to preserve the species in glass containers. The villain did so notably with the Kryptonian species with the bottled city of Kandor.

With that being said, Brainiac would pose enough of a threat to gather the Justice League together to fight off the invasion and save the world.

While Brainiac would be a fitting first villain to fight against the Justice League, could DC do what Marvel did before and build up to a single more powerful villain, say Darkseid? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
