Fans of Michelle Rodriguez are going to be disappointed to find out that the actress will not be part of the "Avatar" sequel.

Rodriguez confirmed on Monday when she was spotted at the Garbriela Cadena fashion show that she will not be reappearing in the "Avatar" sequel, which is set for release on 2017. The actress said that director James Cameron did not ask her to be part of the cast for the next installment of the hit movie.

In a report by The New York Post, Rodriguez was able to give some tidbits on who fans should expect to see in the sequel. The actress said that the next movie will bring a lot of other characters. She confirmed that Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang will be part of "Avatar 2."

"They're bringing back a lot of other characters. I know [Sigourney Weaver's] coming back and the guy who played the bad guy, [Stephen Lang], is coming back. But yeah, I'm not gonna be in it," Rodriguez said.

Having been spotted at a fashion show, Rodriguez admitted that she is a newbie when it comes to the world of high-end style. The actress said that her fashion style has always been practical, but there are moments when she thinks that dressing up is cool too.

"I've always been a very practical kind of individual, and I never really cared to dress myself in any way that gains too much attention. But then I realized, 'Oh my God! Wait a minute. This is kind of cool," Rodriguez said.

With regard the highly anticipated movie, Christian Post reported that Cameron's "Avatar" is one of the most successful films to date. In 2010, it became the bestselling film and grossed more than $2 billion. The sci-fi movie was also nominated in major categories in the prestigious Academy Awards, where it won three trophies.

Movie News Guide claimed that the "Avatar 2" movie will be released in December 2017. Cameron said that for the next film, they will be making an ocean ecosystem for Pandora. For his next masterpiece, Cameron said that the movie will have the same lesson as the first one, which is taking care of the environment but in a different way.

In addition, it was announced that the third and fourth installments of the movie will be released in 2018 and 2019, respectively. So, Avatar fans definitely have a lot of things to look out for in the coming years.
