A new reality show based on a group of 20-somethings from Long Island is coming to a TV near you thanks to Lifetime, the Long Island Press reported on Wednesday. The show, called "Growing Up Gold Coast," follows the group of North Shore residents as they attempt to make names for themselves in the career-world.

During the show's premiere at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington on Monday, director Jim Kelley told reporters, "The kids around this area, what sparked me is their ambition. Instead of a reality show where girls fight, it's a competition of getting ahead and starting out on their own."

"Growing Up Gold Coast," includes members of the "rich and nameless" that hope to make names for themselves away from the riches of their families. According to the LI Press, cast member Anthony "AJ" Scordio from Sands Point quit a job on Wall Street to work as a waiter.

However, not all the cast members of "Growing Up Gold Coast" have the luxury of wealth. Cast-mate Holly Maurer, from King's Park, is a grad student at Adelphi University working two jobs. The LI Press reported that unlike her cast mates, Maurer lives in a humble home and drives a modest four-dour sedan.

The show began filming in late September and continues to film due to Hurricane Sandy setbacks, the LI Press reported.

"Growing Up Gold Coast" premieres on Sunday, November 25 at 9:30 a.m. on Lifetime.
