New images of the new Sony Xperia C5 Ultra and Sony Xperia M5 leaked online, just a few days before the official announcement. The photos provided users with some details on what to expect in terms of design and features.

The leak originated from Hi.Tech.Mail.ru, a Russian tech website. The original post was timestamped for August 3, 2015 and has already been removed.

Tech Times wrote that the Xperia C5 Ultra, is the successor of the 5.5-inch Xperia C4. The new version features a number of upgrades such as a larger 6-inch LCD display with 1080p resolution. The battery is also bigger at 2930mAh, compared to the C4, which had 2600mAh. The C5 Ultra has a 13-megapixel wide-angle front and back shooter, while the C4 has a 5-megapixel front camera. The C5 Ultra has a much thinner bezel at 0.8mm, compared to the C4 which had a 2.2mm bezel. Previously, Tech Times also wrote that a leaked manual of the Xperia C5 Ultra confirmed that the phone will have a bezel-free display and that the rear and front cameras will have a flash. Android Police wrote that the C5 Ultra will also have 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and an octa-core Media Tek MT6752 chipset.

The Sony Xperia M5 was also leaked, which had some similarities to the Sony Xperia Z3. Based on a report by Android Police, the Xperia M5 has a 5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display. There is a 13-megapixel front and rear camera. The device also runs on the octa-core Media TekHelio X10 processor and has a 3GB RAM. The device has a 16GB internal memory and a microSD slot. The phone also has IP65/IP68 dust and water resistance certification. GSM Arena wrote that the Xperia M5 might have a 21.5-megapixel IMX 230 camera sensor.

Between the two devices, Android Police stated that the Xperia C5 Ultra is expected to garner more attention because of its powerful specifications and affordable price of $350. The Xperia M5 has a smaller screen but slightly more powerful features than the C5 Ultra, but will cost around $400. As for the cameras, the C5 Ultra and M5 have a 13-megapixel front camera, but the latter has no front-facing flash. The C5 Ultra will be the phone of choice for taking selfies.

The two phones will be announced by Sony in a few days. More details and confirmations from the company are expected at that time.
