The beloved children's book writer, Dr Seuss, has been gone for over 25 years. However, one of his long lost books, "What Pet Should I Get," has just recently hit the shelves of bookstores worldwide.

According to CBS News, the book was found by Seuss' widow after she did some revonations on their house. The manuscript for "What Pet Should I Get?" was literally in an old box and was forgotten about all these years. Cathy Goldsmith, the VP and Associate Publisher at Random House Young Readers, says that she received a call from Dr Seuss' wife, claiming that there were several books and manuscripts that were previously unreleased.

Upon checking the contents of the box, Goldsmith called the publishing house and a few days later, there were executives at the house looking at the books. According to My Fox, the book really just falls off the tongue and is a very good read especially for those who are young and young at heart. Currently, the sales of the new book has done better than expected with over a million copies sold in the opening days.

"What Pet Should I Get?" follows the sibling duo, which were featured in "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish," as they go on an adventure to get a new pet. However, the book leaves readers in dark on which pet the pair actually get as the book ends saying that the pair does not like Shnook, a Lorax or an Ooblek. The pair consider a Grinch as well, but are left undecided in the end.

Dr Seuss has published over 40 books during his time and is famous for making up words just to make his phrases rhyme. The writer's works have been made into several forms of media as well, with several TV specials during the 70s and 80s are considered classics. Several of his books were also made into movies, such as "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Horton Hears a Who" both starred Jim Carey, while "The Cat in the Hat" and "The Lorax" both starred Mike Myers.

Goldsmith has confirmed that "What Pet Should I Get?" was not the only book found in the long lost box. She says that after fixing some of the manuscripts, fans of Dr Seuss should expect more long lost works to see bookshelves in the near future.
