After his rant about Mexican immigrants being rapists and drug dealers, not only did Donald Trump lose a major television deal with Univision for his Miss Universe Organization, he is also smack in the middle of a Mexican backlash.
Donald Trump later on explained his comments on Fox by saying that he loved Mexico and Mexican people in general and that his remarks were directed to immigrants in general whether from Central America, the middle east or from all around the world. He stood with his remarks, however, regarding many immigrants crossing the southern U.S. border not being the finest people to enter the U.S..
His remarks sparked a media frenzy and here are some of the responses of high-profile latinos in the U.S. that fired back at Donald Trump.
Co-hosts Roselyn Sanchez and Cristian de la Fuente have backed out as the hosts, as announced in their social media, in protest to Donald Trump. Moreover, Colombian J Balvin also announced cancellation of his performance in the show.
Here are some of the things we gathered from the celebrities:
Actor/Host Cristian dela Fuente
Musician Jayson King
#DonaldTrump is an hypocrite racist just like the rest of them, "Mexicans" help built all these great things he own, including his mansions.

Social Media Producer Diego Garces
YES #Mexicans are dangerous Mr #DonaldTrump. Their food is too delicious I am so afraid to overdose on such great culture and gastronomy. — Diego Garces (@DiegoGarcesTV) June 20, 2015
Actor Eugenio Derbez
In an El Universal report, Eugenio Derbez spoke about the controversial comments that the US businessman Donald Trump made about Mexican immigrants and noted that his statements only proved his ignorance. "They are totally racist comments and I am sure that the day that Mexicans are not in this country, Latinos in general, on being deported, the country stops. Latinos are the driving force to the US". He concluded that the commentary by Trump is "totally absurd, stupid and racist."
Colombian Singer J Balvin
Translated into English, his Instagram caption would say: "I think that music is to have fun. It is there for people to have a good time. I am not a Savior and I am not Robin Hood but in this case, I feel totally comfortable and responsible with my decision to cancel miss USA. Opportunities will come if God wants the National Television in the USA but as Latino, it is my decision to lift up Latinos And lift up Mexico!!"
#colombiapalmundo #latinosstandup A photo posted by J Balvin (@jbalvin) on Jun 24, 2015 at 7:45pm PDT
Puerto Rican Actress Roselyn Sanchez
Her Instagram post would be translated as, "As a Latina, I am proud of my roots, culture and everything I have contributed to this nation. I decided to cancel my participation as co-host to the Miss USA pageant. I will not tolerate the disrespectful and hurtful words out of the mouth of Mr. Trump. It seems incredible that in a speech to announce his candidacy, he had that amount of intelligence and decency. Mexicans, like all Latin brothers, have contributed positively to this great nation. We are the force that keeps this country afloat. I was very excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve as co-host of this great event in which many Latinas have shone, but I am more excited to show my loyalty to my people. Enough of racism.
