Ever since Ruby Rose appeared in the season 3 of "Orange Is The New Black," the 29-year-old Australian model has gained a lot of attention on and off the show. Rose takes the role of Stella Carlin, a new character and Litchfield Prison inmate with a mysterious past. With her androgynous looks and playful character, she becomes the "object of lust" for Piper, as well as fans of the show.

According to an article by Telegraph UK, Ruby Rose is an Australian actress, model, DJ and reality TV star who made her way to the hit series "Orange Is The New Black."

The article also notes her humble beginnings. Rose made a career by joining a variety of talent contents and model searches. She found her first big break when she guest-judged in "Australia's Next Top Model" and "Ultimate School Musical."

With regards to her acting career, playing Stella Carlin is considered her biggest acting break. She did manage to snag a starring role, together with Christina Ricci in "Around the Block."

One of the reasons why Ruby Rose stood out in "Orange is the New Black" is the fact that she is part of the LGBT community. She identified herself as lesbian when she was just 12 years old. Inquisitr reports that as a kid, Ruby was "convinced" she was a guy.

"As a little kid, I was convinced that I was a guy. I used to bind with ACE bandages, which is really, really bad for you. I was like, five or six? I was really young. I didn't have anything there to bind! I used to sleep on my chest because I thought it would stop me from getting boobs. I used to pray to God that I wouldn't get breasts," Rose said.

Rose have had several high-profile relationships with other models like Lola Van Vorst, Lyndsey Anne McMillan and Catherine McNeil. She got engaged last March with her girlfriend Phoebe Dahl, cousin of Sophie.

Ruby recently gushed about the support she got since starring in "Orange Is The New Black." Two hours after the show premiered on Netflix, Ruby expressed her gratitude on Twitter for the positive feedback regarding her gender fluid character.

"Woke up trending on Twitter and I haven't seen the show yet got me feeling realllllll vulnerable right now! Hope you're all loving the show," Ruby tweeted.
