It was only launched two days ago but the drops have already begun for the latest Apple tablet.

The iPad Mini has already fallen victim of the infamous drop test, which is conducted to see how durable a device is when dropped at certain levels.

The first drop test will come from the folks at GizmoSlip.

The first round is a drop from four feet off the ground with the back of the iPad Mini facing the floor. The result ends in minor "scuffs and scratches" on the side.

"No big deal, overall, the screen looks fine which is expected on the backdrop."

Next round is a drop on the side, maintaining the four feet level. The iPad Mini was dropped, landing on its back.

The result featured further scratches on the side but also bent the frame in the corner. However, the screen still functioned and had no scratches.

From four feet, screen facing the floor, the device suffered multiple scratches to the screen from the bottom to the top.

The conclusion by GizmoSlip is that the Galaxy Tab 2.0 performed better in the drop test than the iPad Mini.

TechRax dropped the iPad Mini multiple times as well. First, it was dropped from a tabletop and suffered a few scratches on the edge of the screen when landing screen first to the ground.

The backdrop did exactly what its name suggests: landed on its back. It incurred massive amounts of scratches to the screen. The back itself had no visible damage. Despite the drop, the device is still functioning.

Finally, the screen-first drop took further damage for the iPad Mini's screen, however, the tablet is still functioning.

And from the bay of Hong Kong, Android Authority also performed their iPad Mini drop test.

Dropping from the side, the iPad Mini took minor dents to the side but the screen is fully functioning.

For the second round, from about neck high, the backdrop suffered scratches to the display but is still functioning.

The facedown drop, at about neck high, took additional scratches with plastic coming off from the side, but unlike the Nexus 7, the device is still functioning. The back of the iPad Mini has no major scratches.

Despite the results of the iPad Mini, it performed better than the Nexus 7.
