It looks like there will be bloodbath between rivals Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. With the rumored "1984" track from Katy, is it her way to fire back at Swift?

It has long been rumored that Taylor's newest single "Bad Blood" was a direct hit to Katy Perry, Yahoo Music reports. However, Katy might have a response to that with a rumored "1984" track that the singer is about to release. The "Roar" singer reportedly registered a "1984" single with BMI, her music publisher.

US Magazine reports that the rumored "1984" is Katy's response to Taylor's "Bad Blood" single from her "1989" album. Fans from both sides have reacted to this speculation, causing the plot to thicken. US Weekly reports that "Bad Blood" was indeed for Katy after some fans assumed it was written for Miley Cyrus. During her interview with Rolling Stones magazine, Taylor explained the meaning of her new hit. She said straight up that unlike most of her songs, it's not about a guy but a girl.

"I know people will make it this big girl-fight thing," she says. "But I just want people to know it's not about a guy. You don't want to shade someone you used to date and make it seem like you hate him, when that's not the case. And I knew people would immediately be going in one direction."

Taylor and Katy have been friends in the past, even publicly tweeting each other to show support. However, the winds changed and nobody knows the reason for the rumored but quite obvious feud. Both are described as "very competitive," and Perry also posted a tweet about an unnamed girl she describes as "Regina George dressed in sheep's clothing."

For her part, Taylor had something to say about the girl she is "frenemies" with. The singer explained how she was never sure about her friendship with a certain girl, who people guess as Katy.

"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?' [Then last year] she did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy!" Taylor said without dropping names.

It should be noted that both singers dated John Mayer although Taylor said that the main reason behind all the tension is business.

"But I don't think there would be any personal problem if she weren't competitive. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour," Swift alleged. "She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me," Taylor said during her interview with Rolling Stones.

Katy is not one to just sit still in silence and have managed to throw a few jabs in the past. The "Firework" singer was quoted saying, "If somebody is trying to defame my character you're going to hear about it."
