Duggars On Child Molestation Charges: 'We're Ready To Talk About It'

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are ready to discuss the child molestation accusations against their son, Josh.

The Duggar parents will talk about the situation with news anchor Megyn Kelly early in June 2015 on Fox News Channel. Insiders said that TLC is considering the cancellation of the family show "19 Kids and Counting."

On their official family website, the Duggars jointly stated that they will meet with Kelly to talk about the charges on Josh. The exclusive interview will be done at the Duggar family home in Arkansas and air on Wednesday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET on "The Kelly File" on Fox News Channel.

"Next week we will sit down with Megyn Kelly on Fox News to share our hearts with you about the pain that we walked through as a family twelve years ago, the tears we all shed and the forgiveness that was given. We appreciate the outpouring of love and prayers for our family at this time," the Duggars wrote.

A 2006 police report published by In Touch alleges that Josh Duggar, who is currently 27 years old and married with three children, sexually molested five girls dating back as far as 2002, when he was only 14 years of age. Some of the molested underage girls included his own sisters.

Josh Duggar posted an apology on Facebook on Thursday, May 28.

"Twelve years ago, as a young teenager I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life. I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God's grace, mercy and redemption," Josh wrote.

In the same article by In Touch, Jim Bob Duggar waited over a year before turning in Josh, who was a teenager at the time, over to Arkansas State Police for sex offenses. The three-year statute of limitations protected Josh from further investigation.
