The latest Michigan poll released by Fox News Detroit, conducted by Foster McCollum White Baydoun, revealed that President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney are nearly tied at 47 percent. The poll, which included over 1,000 respondents, found that Obama held a miniscule lead at 46.92 percent over Romney's 46.56 percent.

According to the Michigan poll, 2.3 percent of the likely voters said they would vote for another candidate and another 4.23 percent were undecided. Fox News Detroit reported that there is a 2.93 percent margin of error on the poll, which conducted calls to over 35,000 people, with a 95 percent confidence level.

The president is expected to win Michigan, which has 16 electoral votes, with RealClearPolitics giving him a 4-point average over the GOP candidate, The Hill reported. Michigan has, however, become the latest tossup state in the election race.

Mitt Romney received an endorsement by The Detroit News early on Thursday, which stated that the Republican challenger "brings a credible plan" in his presidential plan. "We are confident that Romney will be focused on the bottom line, and will divert the United States from "the road to Greece," as he's said on the campaign trail," the newspaper said.

The Detroit News added, "President Barack Obama came into office in 2009 riding a wave of hope and change. Unfortunately, he has not delivered on the nation's yearning for change nor on the specific promises he made to fix what is broken. The president is asking the country to be patient, but his plan isn't producing results that would merit more patience, and the president hasn't spelled out what he would do differently in a second term."
