Microsoft Surface Pro 4 vs Surface 3: Which is it Gonna be? Specs, Features & Price Here!

Microsoft's latest iterations of its line of tablets have managed to impress observers and tech fans with their functionality and versatility. So, it's not surprising for rumors of the next model, the Surface Pro 4, to make the rounds on the Internet every now and then like a recurring fever. Will it be infinitely better than its predecessor?

Also, how does it measure up to the most recent release, the Surface 3?

"The Surface Pro 4 will launch in two different sizes - one with a 12-inch display and a larger version with a 14-inch display (possibly to compete with the iPad Pro and other rumoured monster tablets)," Tech Radar noted, based on rumors flying about. "The tablet will likely feature Intel's Core M Broadwell CPU, which has been used in a number of Windows machines and more recently Apple's new MacBook."

"The Surface 3 features a convenient 10.8-inch display packed with 1,920 x 1,280 pixels resolution," International Business Times compared. "Under the hood, the device is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom x7 SoC."

The latter model's resolution, however, when compared to the projected 2,160 x 1,440 pixel resolution of the upcoming tablet, appear to pale in comparison. This isn't surprising, since the Surface line is considered the entry-level version that will also appeal to the budget-conscious.

As such, it should also be expected that the Surface Pro 4 will have a more refined, sophisticated look than the Surface 3.

When it comes to software and memory, it appears the Pro 4 will trump the Surface 3, which has 2 GB or 4 GB RAM and either 64 GB or 128 GB built-in storage. The soon-to-be-released Microsoft tablet is rumored to have "16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of built-in storage," IBT said.

In the battery department, it would seem the two devices may be pretty much on par. The Surface 3's 10-hour juice is already impressive - something that the Pro 4 needs to outdo or at least match in order to be a compelling tablet.

The question on Pro 4's camera specs still remain unanswered as there have been no reports regarding this feature. However, it's anticipated to be better than the Surface 3's 8 MP rear camera and 3.5 MP front camera. It's worth noting that Surface Pro 3 had 5 MP front and rear cameras.

Currently, Microsoft has not confirmed Surface Pro 4 rumors, as well as its release. However, it's suspected that the tablet may be released together with the Windows 10 this coming summer.
