With the upcoming release of the James Bond's newest sequel Spectre, the profile of the new James Bond "girl" is now all over the social media as well. So who is Stephanie Sigman?

Here are a few facts that you need to know about the new Mexican Bond girl.

- The character that Sigman is portraying is named "Estrella" which means stars in Spanish.

- The new Bond girl is not pure Mexican. Her mother is Mexican while her father is an American.

- Sigman started as model in Mexico but later pursued acting. She was even signed to a famous modeling agency called Elite Model Management.

- She starred in movies such as "Miss Bala" and the Norwegian thriller "Pioneer." "Miss Bala", her big break film, made it to Oscars in 2011. Sigman can also be seen in the FX series, "The Bridge." She will also star in Netflix series titled "Narcos," a flick showing the life of the famous Pablo Escobar, portrayed by Wagner Moura.

- Sigman made a mark in the music industry as well, starring in Arctic Monkeys' music video titled "Snap Out of It."

- She is the first and the only Mexican girl cast as a Bond Girl in all James Bond series during the past 25 years.

According to CBS News, prior to getting her big break in television, she did audition in a shampoo commercial where she was declined. That was probably a failure but a blessing since during that audtion, Sigman was discovered by a director and was later signed to do the leading role of the award-winning Mexican film, "Miss Bala."

Stephanie Sigman was officially announced to be play one of the leading roles of "Spectre" by MGM and Sony Studios in a Facebook page of James Bond.

Her role in "Spectre" is reportedly a Bond girl together with three other female characters, who are also romantically linked with Daniel Craig's character, New York Daily News reported. Whether or not Sigman will be James Bond's ally or enemy, remains to be seen.

Other movie cast includes Monica Bellucci, Ralph Fiennes, Daniel Craig, Ben Whishaw, Naomi Harris, Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, Rory Kinnear, Andrew Scott, and Dave Bautista, according to the movie's Twitter page, On the Flix noted.

Directed by Sam Mendes together with script-makers Neil Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan, "Spectre" will hit on theatres on October 23rd in the UK and November 6th in the United States.
