Vanilla Ice, the famous rapper from the 90's is making waves again, but it's not for the reasons that you think.

According to Fox News, the rapper - who was known for his hit song "Ice Ice Baby" in the 90's - was arrested last Wednesday for burglary and grand theft in a residential area between the months of December and February. The Latana Police said that the rapper, whose real name is Robert Matthew Van Winkle, allegedly stole furniture, a pool heater, bicycles, and other items in a home in Florida that he believed to be vacant.

Police officials said in a statement, "During the investigation, it was determined Robert Matthew Van Winkle played a role in the burglary and theft. Based on the evidence collected, witness statements and corroborating statements, Van Winkle was taken into custody and charged with Burglary Residence and Grand Theft."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vanilla Ice took the household items from what he believed to be an abandoned home next to his own, which he is renovating for his reality TV series, "The Vanilla Ice Project."

In his reality TV show, Rolling Stone magazine noted that the rap star shows off his skills as a handyman as he fixes homes that he's hoping to flip. The show airs on the DIY network and has wrapped up its fourth season in May.

Following the investigation of a complaint from the owner of the house, police obtained a search warrant and searched the home the rapper has been filming in, where some of the stolen items were found. Vanilla Ice was said to be "very cooperative" as he has reportedly been working them to find the rest of the missing items.

Although cooperative, the New York Daily News said that the rapper gave a sworn statement but stopped short of giving his full confession. Lantana Police Chief Sean Scheller said that the rapper has "a different recollection of where the property was stored."

There has been no word from Vanilla Ice nor his PR team, however, the DIY Network has already issued a statement, saying, "DIY Network has been made aware of this situation and is currently looking into the matter."

Vanilla Ice seems to have been building quite a rap sheet. Rolling Stone noted that this is not the first time that he has been accused of theft. BBC News also said that in 2001, Vanilla Ice spent a night in jail after he was arrested for domestic dispute, and again in 2008 when he allegedly pushed his wife.

What do you think about this latest development from the 90's rapper?
