Actress Scarlett Johansson has shed some light about her role in the upcoming movie "Avengers: Age of Ultron." In a recent interview with W magazine, the actress, who plays Black Widow, revealed that the sequel would indeed tackle her role's past.

"In the sequel, you learn more about the sadness in her past," she was quoted as saying by W magazine.

Despite this sad past, Johansson said she admires Black Widow for many reasons.

"She is dark and has faced death so many times that she has a deep perspective on the value of life. I think of her that way. Black Widow is a superhero, but she's also human. She's small, but she's strong. It's hard not to admire her...She packs a big punch...We all try to fight the forces of evil. Like Black Widow, you have to keep trying. The challenge is always there," to quote her. The actress also revealed that she loves Iron Man and that she really wanted to play a role in a comic book movie.

Film director Joss Whedon himself revealed earlier that Black Widow or Natasha Romanoff would indeed be a huge part of the sequel.

"Natasha is a huge part of the sequel because you do want to concentrate on the people who don't have their own franchises. Although [she's] in 'Cap 2', [and] she's great. She was the most fun for me because she's not a hero, you know, and it's something that I read-and I feel bad that I can't remember who wrote the book-but it's in one of the books explaining, 'These guys are heroes, you are a spy. It's a different thing-it's a different skill set-and you don't have their moral high ground or any of that good stuff.' And that just makes her so interesting to me. So yeah, the stuff I've got going on with her in the second one is killer," Whedon was quoted as saying by Screen Rant.

The report said that it is unlikely that Marvel would release a Black Widow standalone film though fans got a glimpse of her story in the movie "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Aside from "Age of Ultron," fans will also learn more about Black Widow in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War" movie.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is a sequel to the first "Avengers" film. It is based on the Marvel comic book series "The Avengers," which was first published in 1963.

Aside from Johansson, the movie will again feature original cast members: Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. Meanwhile, Paul Bettany will portray the role of The Vision, Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill. There are also newcomers: Aaron Johnson as Pietro Maximoff and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff. It will hit theaters on May 1.
