Fans of ABC's hit medical drama 'Grey's Anatomy' will have another week to process everything that's happened to the doctors of Seattle Grace-Mercy West. With Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) gone, Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) dealing with her leg amputation and Christian Yang (Sandra Oh) at a new hospital, the doctors will have a lot to come to terms with.

Season nine's third episode seems to give the doctors a bit of reprieve from the traumatic events in the first two episodes without holding out on the drama. The episode, entitled "Love the One You're With," airs on October 18 and teases a possible marriage proposal between former Mercy West doctors, Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and April Kepner (Sarah Drew).

"Love the One You're With" also promises to bring more perspective into the lives of Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Alex (Justin Chambers). Callie and Alex, who are responsible for amputating Arizona's leg and for making her be on the fatal plane in the first place, will find themselves relying on each other this season. Next week's episode promo shows Callie giving Alex some much-needed advice-stay away from the interns.

As for Derek Shepherd's (Patrick Dempsey) hand and relationship with wife Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo)? The upcoming episodes will find McDreamy dealing with his injured hand, as well as pressuring himself to find a way back into the OR. Pompeo spoke to TV Line about their relationship this season and said the pair will be much stronger.

The actress teased, "It's not very realistic that a married woman would have her best friend be her No. 1 before her husband. I guess if you're 20. But for a grown woman, your No. 1 person should be your husband - or what's the point of getting married? Your significant other should be your significant other, so hopefully we'll transition into that."

'Grey's Anatomy' returns with new episodes on Thursday, October 18 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
