Rose Byrne, who played as CIA agent Moira MacTaggert in the 2011 movie "X-Men: First Class," is returning to the new movie franchise to play a vital role. The news comes from Entertainment Weekly's exclusive report directly quoting movie's writer Simon Kinberg confirming the character's comeback. Moira is also known as the love interest of Professor X in "First Class."
"She's (Moira) a significant character in the movie...We ended 'First Class' with Charles having wiped portions of her memory of her experience with the X-Men. They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them," Kinberg told the news outlet.
According to the report, the setting of the new movie will be in the '80s, years after "First Class." The writer told EW about these details on Friday while he was prepping up for his travel to Montreal for the movie's pre-production.
There is very little information known about the movie. But according to the statements of Kinberg, it seems that fans should really wait how Moira would again be put into the picture. "It's certainly a rich relationship that we started to dig into in First Class, and would like to mine more in this one," he said. "This movie is the completion of the first arcs of Charles, Eric, Raven, and Hank, who are essentially our main characters...They're such young actors and young characters, so there's a lot more story to tell. But as a first phase of their lives, there is this feeling of closure by the end of the movie."
Earlier, director Bryan Singer himself announced that three new actors have been included in the movie cast list. These are Sophie Turner, known for her role in the hit TV series "Game of Thrones," as Jean Grey; Tye Sheridan, known for the movie "Tree of Life," as Cyclops; and Alexandra Shipp as Storm.

Also new in the film is Oscar Isaac who will be playing the lead role Apocalypse. Meanwhile, actors returning in the movie are James McAvoy as Charles Xavier or Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr or Magneto, and Jennifer Lawrence as Raven or Mystique.
Kinberg said in his exclusive interview with EW that he is really serious in achieving an '80s feeling in his upcoming movie and that he is proud to be part of that period. "That's the era that I grew up in...The music, the fashion, the videogames: We really want to integrate all of that in the movie, and have it infuse the movie with a different vibe...We're certainly looking at mutants that would fit into the period," he was quoted as saying.
Kinberg also hinted that a crossover between "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" is possible. "X-Men: Apocalypse" will be in theaters in May next year.
