Bad news to all "Mass Effect" fans. It looks like the upcoming newest installment of the game won't show up this year. The Fuse Joplin reported on Wednesday that it is very unlikely that the new sequel would come out this year. It cited in its report Twitter user and "Mass Effect" fan Shinobi602 who predicted that the game would probably have a second quarter 2016 release date.

It also said that game producer Michael Gamble has already announced in July last year that the new sequel is "still years away from being released." Meanwhile, Bioware Montreal studio director Yanick Roy said in May last year that the game is still being developed and that they were already "halfway" during that time. To date, no specific date has been given about the game's launch. However, it is expected that the sequel would probably get a new name. The official name will allegedly be announced during the E3 2015 event to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center this June. A trailer for the said game is also expected to come out soon.

Shinobi602 meanwhile revealed in a Neogaf post that the new "Mass Effect" game would be "massive."

"Massive in terms of size/scale, that's all. Yeah, 'optimistic' but not unlikely or anything, it could very well be ready by Q2 2016, the date's still not set even internally. There were about 50 or so devs on the game around when DAI shipped, that's since quadrupled in number. That new build Gamble was talking about was a big milestone related to that. Doubling down on one single engine (Frostbite) across all the studios is a huge advantage," to quote him.

"They're making it the best game it can be, it'll be worth the wait...It's 100% coming next year," he added.

In another post, Shinobi602 revealed that the game "did not enter full production until DAI was near complete."

Meanwhile, Gamble reportedly met with Aaryn Flynn, the studio general manager of Bioware in Edmonton and Montreal early this year to discuss the feeling of the new game. In his January 10 tweet, Gamble said, "Best thing said during my milestone review with @AarynFlynn 'Yep. This feels like Mass Effect'."

Cross Map speculates that if the rumors that the design phase of the game indeed begun in the late 2012 are true and assuming that it would take at least 36 months for the game development and all, then it is expected that the game would come out by October 2015. And since it has already been reported that more devs have been hired for the game, then it is clearly more likely that it would be pushed this year.

Still, nothing is sure as we could not confirm any details so this again classifies as another speculation. Could "Mass Effect 4" come out this year or not? Would it get another name? Do you have any ideas what it would be called? Share us your thoughts!
