Recent rumors about the new "Grand Theft Auto 6" have suggested that the new game will be set in Portland, Oregon. It started with Movoto, which posted several reasons as to why the area is the perfect place for the new game installment.

"To be fair, Portland wasn't our first choice either. We looked at several cities, trying to see which one would be a great place to steal cars and run over hookers in. It's hard to argue with numbers, and the numbers show that not only is Portland a great choice for the next GTA, but also that Portland probably would have actually been a better choice than that lame-sauce city Los Whateveros," Movoto says.

Movoto said that since guns are the most important tools in the game, then it would only be logical to choose Portland as it has at least nine gun stores there. Next on their list of reasons? The number of strip clubs! Yes, Portland is known to having housed over 80 different strip clubs. So, get ready to toss those cash.

The blog post claims that Portland scored way higher than Los Santos in almost every aspect. However, when it comes to the number of police stations, Portland scored lower at 6, only half of Los Santos's 12. And of course, the gaming experience would only be completed by that special local city smell which can be found in the incredibly many shops Portland has. Here's a map of the area provided by Movoto. To its conclusion, Movoto declares, "Portland would be the PERFECT city for the next 'Grand Theft Auto' game. It has the personality, the intrigue, and frankly it might be more fun to visit Portland digitally..."

The International Business Times said that Portland is the largest city located in Oregon and is the third most populated city in the Pacific Northwest at over 600,000 people. Previous locations that served as fictional backdrops for the game include Los Angeles, Miami, and New York City.

The "Grand Theft Auto 6" is expected to be released in 2017. Master Herald says that the timeline is quite realistic, considering the pace of how Rockstar develops game series though it is also somewhat a bit too soon.

To tease its fans, Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies earlier said that they already have some ideas for the next GTA sequel. "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do...We don't know what 'GTA VI' will be, but we've got some ideas...GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain't no rest between finishing 'V' and then Online. Plus we have some other things -- stuff, DLC, I don't know how to describe it exactly -- that we'd like to do, and we'll pick the right ones," Benzies was quoted as saying by Kpopstarz.

That report added that Benzies' statement could mean that the release of the new game could be pushed back to 2018. Rockstar has yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter.
