Will 2015 be the year Apple outdoes itself where the MacBook Pro is concerned?

Rumors of the upcoming edition of the Apple laptop have been swirling for the last couple of months, with the latest one being that the device may come with a touch screen display.

Upon closer examination of those talks, it turns out the rumored touch screen Retina HD display is part of a conceptual rendering of the next iteration of the MacBook Pro by designer Hass T.

"He named the concept as MacBook Pro 2 and he posted the photos of the concept image in his Google+ account," Christian Today said.

"According to Hass T., the MacBook Pro will sport a lightweight aluminum body with a slightly darker color finish. The device will be a tablet-laptop hybrid because of the touchscreen panel, just like the Microsoft Surface Pro 3," the news source added.

Will the decision makers at Apple give Hass' concept a once over and possibly incorporate it in future designs? How would Jony Ive take this designer's handiwork?

Hass said that his concept includes "an improved Facetime HD camera with nearly all the features you get from the iPhone 6's camera and possibly the best feature of them all, its detachable!" as noted in the caption accompanying the earlier version of the said conceptual devices.

The final version of Hass' concept can be seen here. The designer noted that he has finally decided to call his creation MacBook S, which he also said has the following features, as noted in his Google+ account:

"15 inch Retina HD Display with multi-touch technology; 8 MP iSight Camera with all the features from the iPhone 6, including image stabilisation; detachable body - the screen can detach and become a tablet but operating on mac OSX; performs as well as the current Retina Macbook Pro."

What do you think of the Hass concept? A go or a no?

It has also been rumored that the newest iteration of the MacBook Pro will be released early this year, together with the lighter MacBook Air.

"The laptops were reported to boast Intel's new Broadwell chipsets set to be launched at the 2015 Consumers Electronics Show next week, which will make the devices fanless and lighter than their predecessors. The laptops will also come with the new USB Type-C port and better battery capacity," Christian Today noted.

Meanwhile, MacRumors said that a 12-inch Retina MacBook may emerge early or middle of this year.

"According to rumors, the 12-inch MacBook, which may come in iPhone-style colors, combines the portability of the 11-inch MacBook Air with the productivity of the larger-screened 13-inch MacBook Air. It has an all new design with slimmer bezels and it is thinner than the existing MacBook Air, thanks to its lack of a fan and a trackpad redesign that eliminates a mechanical button," the site explained.
