There have been reports coming out that "Grand Theft Auto 6" will be released for PlayStation 4 sometime in 2017.

After the huge success of "Grand Theft Auto 5," where the company's profits rose by 60 percent in 2014, gamers were immediately talking about the possibility of Rockstar Games currently working on a sequel.

Leslie Benzie, president of Rockstar talked about the sixth installment of "GTA" in a report by Christian Post. He said, "We've got about 45 years' worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what 'GTA VI' will be, but we've got some ideas."

Leslie Benzie clarified that despite the developer having a lot of ideas, "GTA 6" is not their main focus at the moment. He added, "GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain't no rest between finishing 'V' and then Online. Plus we have some other things -- stuff, DLC, I don't know how to describe it exactly -- that we'd like to do, and we'll pick the right ones."

In as early as August 2014, there were already several speculations from gamers as to how they envision the sixth installment to be. In a previous report by Christian Post, there have been talks that the sequel might go back to its origins and feature a London setting. The first "GTA" in 1999 was referred to as "Grand Theft Auto: London 1969". Other locations have also been suggested such as Miami or "Vice City", Southern Texas and Chicago.

Dan Houser, writer of "GTA 5," also hinted in the same Christian Today report that "GTA 6" might feature a female lead character. He said, "In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course, we just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things that we always think about."

Fans also suggested how the sixth installment can feature a multi-character structure where players can shift among three unique characters in the game.

Master Herald reported that the current planning stages for "GTA 6" are still very early and there is no confirmation about the game setting yet. Chicago might be a good place for the sequel since its weather conditions allow Rockstar to present weather effects using their new engine.

According to Master Herald, the new "GTA 6" will definitely provide interesting changes in both graphics and gameplay. With the latest technologies unraveling for Rockstar, the sequel is expected to be the best in the franchise.
