'Avengers 2' Release Date, Cast & Trailer: The Abomination Coming Back?

Will The Abomination come back in the latest installment of the "Avengers" movie?

In an exclusive interview with Crave Online, Tim Roth who is known for playing the role of villain The Abomination in "The Incredible Hulk" movie revealed that his role almost got back in the second "Avengers" movie. He added however that his role might still come back in other upcoming "Avengers" movie.

"They were going to do it. They did do that. They were thinking, in The Avengers 2 or something. There was a movie we could do that at one point, but way back when. It just kind of got swept under the carpet I guess. That would be hilarious," he was quoted as saying.

The actor also admitted that he enjoys seeing fans flock and still recognize him for his The Abomination role.

"Someone brought that up yesterday when we were doing press. It was like, 'I'm talking to the Abomination.' I kind of enjoyed that too. I enjoy doing stuff like that. They don't come your way too often," to quote him.

Screen Rant's Robert Yaniz Jr. wrote that these reports of Abomination coming back to the scene are no longer new and not really surprising as it has been talked in the past that there is always a possibility for him to return as Incredible Hulk's nemesis. Yaniz added that the Red Skull is also on the list of characters who could possibly come back.

"Yet, despite some reports to the contrary, the fact remains that the chance of seeing Roth return to the MCU anytime soon will likely be limited to ensemble films. With so many moving parts in place both on television and the big screen, one can't help but wonder what surprises Marvel will have in store for fans when the two-part 'Avengers: Infinity War' hits theaters in 2018 and 2019. Considering the curveballs the MCU has offered thus far, there's every chance that Roth could still be receiving a call from Marvel in the next few years," the report said.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is a sequel to the first "Avengers" film which is considered as the "third highest-grossing film of all-time" after earning $1.5 billion in 2012. It is based on the Marvel comic book series "The Avengers," which was first published in 1963.

The sequel will again feature original cast members -- Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. Paul Bettany will portray the role of The Vision, Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, and James Spader as Ultron. There are also newcomers -- Aaron Johnson as Pietro Maximoff and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff.
