The iPhone 5 has been released in nine countries, and 22 more are set to grab onto it this Friday, but a release date for India still isn't clear.

The iPhone 5 has a four-inch Retina Display screen with a resolution of 1,136x640, iOS 6, an eight-megapixel camera on the rear and two-megapixels on the front, A6 processor making the device run twice as fast compared to the iPhone 4S, three microphones on the front, back, and bottom of the device, and the new Lightning Adapter.

The 22 countries that will see the device this Friday are Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Apple Inc. Vice President Phillip Schiller stated that the company wants to reach to 100 countries and 240 mobile carriers by December.

India may be one of those 100 as Apple.com's Indian page confirms the device is "coming soon."

A specific release is not known but widely rumored. LiveMint and Business Today reported that a release date during Diwali is likely. Diwali falls on Nov. 13 this year.

When it comes to prices, it should range as the same price when the iPhone 4S was released, therefore around Rs. 45,000.

According to the International Business Times (IBT), an unlocked version is being sold on ebay with a 64GB version priced at Rs 131,934 and another model priced at Rs. 105,000.

Several sources, such as IBT, report that AirTel is expected to carry the iPhone 5 in India. A downside to the rumors is India will likely not see the new 4G LTE technology and most of the Apple apps.
