Apple Watch Release Date, Specs, Features & Price: Everything We Know So Far

It seems that we only have several months to wait for the new Apple Watch.

CNET reported that the mass production of the new device might finally start next month. In its report, CNET cited Taiwanese site United Daily News which said that issues related to the watch's display and processor have already been resolved. If the report is true then the scheduled release of the new Apple Watch might finally be pushed through.

Apple has remained quiet about the official release date of the watch which was unveiled in September. In its website, it just said that the device will be out in "early 2015."

But Apple's senior vice president of retail and online stores Angela Ahrendts revealed that the device might be out in spring, 9to5mac.com said.

Types

There are at least three kinds of Apple Watch: the Apple Watch collection, Apple Watch Sport collection, and Apple Watch Edition collection.

Design

According to Techradar, the watch comes in two sizes -- 38mm (1.5in) and 42mm (1.65in).

Apple said that the Apple Watch collection uses "highly polished stainless steel and space black stainless steel cases" with a display "protected by sapphire crystal."

The Apple Watch Edition on the other hand has an 18-karat gold case. There are at least six metal colors buyers can choose from -- stainless steel, silver aluminum, space black stainless steel, space gray aluminum, 18-karat yellow gold and 18-karat rose gold. Buyers can also choose from several leather bands -- a link bracelet, sport band, leather loop, classic buckle, modern buckle, and Milanese loop.

Watch Faces

The device also comes with several watch faces. With these faces, you can see time in different ways, Apple said. Some of these designs include chronograph, color, modular, utility, Mickey Mouse, simple, motion, solar, and astronomy. Aside from this, users can also get to choose what colors to assign to the time details.

The new Apple Watch really boasts a lot of features. It enables users to be updated with messages, Facebook updates, notifications, emails and even news updates through their watches without even looking at their phones.

Just tap it and you can now call or send them a message. Not only that, you can draw using the Apple watch while letting another watch user see it. Just draw directly on the screen and then an animation of the drawing will appear minutes later. Sending a message will also be easier as you just have to record or dictate it directly to the watch. You can also have fun with the animated emoji emoticons.

You can also use your Apple Watch to boost your health. With the help of the device, you can track your Calorie burn, goals and hits, progress, and workout summary for days and weeks. It is also packed with other useful instruments such as accelerometer and heart rate sensor. It also uses Wi-Fi and GPS.
