Truly the season of giving, December will be a great month for PlayStation owners as Peter Moore of EA announced at the PlayStation Experience 2014 that their company will be offering three free games for three Sony gaming consoles.

Beginning December 6, 2014, gamers can download "Need for Speed: Most Wanted" on PlayStation Vita. PlayStation 3 gamers can get "Mirror's Edge" for free, while PlayStation 4 gamers can get "Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare" as a free download. It is not yet certain whether the three EA games will be available throughout Christmas month so players should get these as soon as possible, based on a report by IGN.com.

According to The Verge, the three games will be available on the PS Store for the weekend only. PlayStation announced on Twitter, "On PS Store this weekend only, 12pm Sat - 6pm Sunday: Need for Speed (Vita), Mirror's Edge (PS3), PvZ Garden Warfare (PS4) FREE courtesy @EA"

"Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare" is a third-person shooter game where players fight off zombie invasions with unique characters from the original game. Gamers get to use special weapons with the objective of warding off the endless zombie hordes. Players can form two teams with 12 players each. It takes on a more dynamic and interactive approach compared to the original. The game was sold at $38.65 upon its release in February 2014, based on a report by Game Spot.

"Mirror's Edge" was developed by EA DICE, which is a first-person action adventure game that will allow characters to move in new ways, compared to classic methods used in traditional first-person games. In the game, a crime was committed where the main character's sister was implicated as the perpetrator. Players take on the role of Faith, a runner who transports important data. Faith will move through the city as well as fight various enemies, based on a report by Metacritic.com.

In another report by Metacritic.com, "Need for Speed: Most Wanted" is an open-world racing game. It is the 19th release in the Need for Speed franchise and is the first version to be available on PlayStation Vita. In the game, players can race against each other as well as escape police forces trying to stop them. The open-world environment allows players to compete using different paths. Additional features include an Arcade gameplay and Simulation gameplay. There are also social play options and multiplayer support. Gamers can enjoy various types of vehicles and customize these accordingly.
