Samsung smartphones are finally starting to get a taste of the much awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop.

According to Sam Mobile, the newly released Lollipop update has finally rolled out in Samsung Galaxy S5 phones in Poland. The report noted that this is the "first time the Korean giant has delivered a major Android software upgrade in such a short period of time." It noted that Samsung delivered the new Android update only 31 days after Google released the Lollipop code to AOSP.

If you are not in Poland, don't be disheartened. Sam Mobile said that the Android update will definitely hit other European countries soon.

CNET said that this would likely happen as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Polish version has the same model number as those in the Europe version. It also noted that the Lollipop update will also hit the South Korean region in the "near future." This has also happened to LG G3 users, CNET said. To note, Polish LG G3 smartphones were the first ones to get a bite of the Lollipop update. This was eventually followed by South Korean LG G3 users weeks later.

However, it seems that Samsung users in the United States will just have to wait a little longer as it is still unsure when the update will hit the smartphones. Sam Mobile noted that the "usual" carrier certification might have caused the delay in the roll out process. Aside from the test conducted by device makers, it is common in the US that carriers make their own certification.

With this, CNET is suggesting that Samsung Galaxy S5 will get a chance to taste the new Lollipop update by next year.

So why are they very eager to get a lick of the new Lollipop update?

According to Sam Mobile, most users are really excited to see the improved user interface.

"With Lollipop, Google introduced Material Design which makes UI elements alive and natural to touch; in simpler words, every UI element has an animation, and it looks amazing! Material Design brought new design guidelines, which required Samsung to develop all of its proprietary system applications from scratch, and they now look much, much better than before - thanks, Google!" to quote Sam Mobile.

Not only that, users can now get to enjoy the new white dye theme and new fonts. Also noticeable is the new lockscreen with notifications support. It also has a tap & go, priority mode, heads-up notifications, Smart Lock, and MirrorLink. Furthermore, enjoy the new clipboard tool and the improved fingerprint recognition in the lockscreen.

Sam Mobile declared that the Lollipop update is the "most lag-free and speedy software Samsung has developed for a smartphone to date."

Other phones that have previously received the Lollipop update include Motorola devices such as Moto X and Moto G and Nexus devices such as Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10.
