Manny Pacquiao Floyd Mayweather Fight: ESPN Analysts Thinks Money Will Destroy Pacman

After Manny Pacquiao convincingly won against Chris Algieri in their bout on November 22 in Macau, boxing fans were again demanding for a super fight to happen between the Filipino and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

One of the latest reports on the topic was that Mayweather was asking for a re-match clause in case he loses. Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer, reportedly told Daily Mail that they would agree to such a stipulation. It was usual for the favored fighter to ask for a rematch clause, similar to what Pacquiao cited in his previous fight against the underdog Algieri.

As the possibility for the mega fight grows bigger, boxing fans cannot help but speculate how the fight might break down between the two superstars.

Fight Saga reported that "First Take with Smith and Bayless" on ESPN on November 26 featured the two expert broadcast journalists discussing the potential match.

Skip Bayless said in the Fight Saga report, "I hope that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is no longer afraid of Manny Pacquaio. But I think this story suggests that he is afraid. Why would Floyd Mayweather Jr. want a rematch clause unless he's afraid he's going to lose the first fight?" He added, "What is Floyd thinking about? Does he feel that it's a foregone conclusion that he's going to lose the first fight with Manny Pacquiao? Because I think that's what this is clearly saying."

Stephen A. Smith sided with Mayweather, "Floyd Mayweather Jr. had a rematch clause in his first fight against Marcos Maidana. Was he scared of him? He also had one when he faced Oscar De La Hoya. Was he scared of him? The fact of the matter is that Floyd is currently negotiating... if Floyd is scared of Manny Pacquiao, he wouldn't want the first fight, let alone a rematch."

Smith continued to give praises to Mayweather, "In big moments, Floyd Mayweather is usually at his best. I feel sorry for the Pacman for what's going his way. Trust me when I tell you, Floyd is going to put on a show." He continued, "No matter what you have seen from Mayweather in the past, the night he fights Manny Pacquiao, it will be the greatest performance of Floyd's career. He will put on a boxing exhibition."

Smith said in the same Fight Saga report, "I can't speak for Floyd outside of the ring, but inside the ring he's a boxing magician. He's a magician of the highest order. On fight night, he will pick Manny Pacquiao apart and teach him what the sport of boxing is all about."
