To quench the gamers' long wait for the role-playing video game "Final Fantasy XV," the 15th installment to the Final Fantasy series, developer Square Enix released the tech demo that further whet the appetites of the worldwide fans of the game.
"The tech demo takes you into the nuts and bolts of level, character, and effects design (of 'Final Fantasy XIV'). Square Enix is utilizing its new Luminous engine for the title and the name is quite apropos: it's illuminating. Gorgeous, stunning," describes Game N Guide.
With the release of the game's tech demo, the report believes that the "Final Fantasy XV" is not just content with simply being the 'prettiest belle at the ball,' the game is actually 'trophy-wife pretty.'
Japanese website Kotaku, which referred to the tech demo as gameplay walkthrough, shares the same opinion as Game N Guide.
"We've already seen it (in 1080p). We even translated it. The game looks fantastic on HD. While the walkthrough doesn't have the commentary, it does have stunning HD footage of the game in motion," states Kotaku.
While Squre Enix has not announced a specific release date for "Final Fantasy XIV," Game N Guide says that gamers will gain access to the first chapter titled "Final Fantasy Episode Duscae" alongside "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD" in March 2015.
Development and Gameplay
Development of "Final Fantasy XV" started before its official launch during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) trade fair in May 2006 at Los Angeles, California.
Since its unveiling, "Final Fantasy XV" has been on and off the gaming community radar. Fans were either wondering what its current status is or has simply grown tired waiting for it, points out the Christian Post in an October 13 article.
Excitement over "Final Fantasy XV" started picking up again during the Tokyo Game Show held in September. FF 15 project director Hajime Tabata announced that "the game is roughly 50 to 60 percent complete while the demo is 80% complete," the Christian Post reported.
The game features an open-world environment similar to modern-day earth set in a darker atmosphere but with more realistic human characters.
The main character of "Final Fantasy XV" is Noctis Lucis Caelum, the prince of a mafia-like royal family, which protects the last remaining crystal in the world. The nation of Nifilheim is the main enemy of Lucis.
The game begins as a truce between Lucis and Nifilheim, ending the cold war which has ravaged on over possession of the world's crystals. On the day when a treaty is to be signed between the two nations, Nifilheim invades Lucis and takes the nation's crystal and subsequently attacks three more nations. Nocis and some of his friends escaped the attack and they now travel to retrieve the nation's crystal while attempting to defeat Nifilheim's forces, details the Square Enix Facebook page.
