Christopher Nolan's latest film is one of the most-anticipated this year with an expected opening weekend sales of more than $50 million. Though it garnered mixed reviews from critics, Business Insider thinks it may be because complex films like such, deserve to be re-watched to be fully understood.

Said to be one of the director's most thought-provoking films, the ambitious story is set in the not-too-distant future, in a dystopian civilization where people fear for their lives because of food shortage brought about by nature, leaving the people to fend for themselves in the midst of soot and dust storms.

Lead star Matthew McConaughey plays the role of Cooper, an ex-test pilot and engineer, who discovers that the generation of his daughter will be the last to survive in the planet and so he heads out to space to find a habitable planet along with his companions.

If the plot is not enough to excite you, here are 5 reasons why the film is a must-watch:

1)    It's made by Christopher Nolan, so you know that it's going to be good. He also directed "Inception" and "The Dark Knight" Trilogy, so you can at least expect this to be of that caliber.

2)    It boasts talented cast members, featuring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Wes Bentley, Casey Affleck, and Topher Grace, to name a few. It also features a favorite from the director, Michael Caine.

3)    In this movie, Christopher Nolan paired with his brother Jonathan, who also knows how to tell a story. They teamed up for "Inception" and you know you argued with someone over that, and "Interstellar" is said to be one of the most thought-provoking ones they wrote: you can expect as many twists and turns for sure.

4)    It's sci-fi in a dystopian civilization kind of setting. Metro UK pointed out, humanity needing to find a new home never gets old, considering that it's not as far-fetched as you'd like to think.

5)    Most of it are set in space; and like "Star Wars" and "Gravity," films set in space are infinitely better.

So, will you be watching "Interstellar" in cinema?
