In just over a month, U.S. gamers will be able to get their hands on Ubisoft's next installment in the Assassin's Creed series. Dubbed 'Assassin's Creed 3,' it will take place during America's war for independence fromm 1753 to 1783.

Assassin's Creed 3 will be available stateside on October 30 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. PC gamers will get their copies on November 30.

The game will complete the story of Desmond Miles, and this time around his assassin persona will be half-English, half-Native American Connor Kenway, who Ubisoft describes as "the spark that ignites the American Revolution."

Ubisoft has stated that they have completely redesigned the game from the ground up and have introduced some new features including the ability to participate in naval battles. A recently released video narrated by the games creative director, Alex Hutchinson, shows off the dynamics of the new gameplay mode.

Players will be in control of a ship, utilizing various tactics and strategies that will change as the ship takes on more damage. Gamers will also have the option of taking the fight to opposing ships directly, by boarding them as Connor.

When in command of a ship, players can utilize varying types of artillery to damage other ships or even ram into them.

Assassin's Creed 3 will mostly take place in a countryside dubbed the 'Frontier.' However, Ubisoft has made it clear that locales such as New York City and Boston will also be playable. Multiplayer will also play a bigger role this time around, with a "Wolf Pack" mode.

Leading up to the game's release, Ubisoft has been releasing videos highlighting gameplay aspects and the game's development in a series called "Inside Assassin's Creed 3."
