Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender will resume their roles in the sci-fi flick, "Prometheus 2," and this time, there won't be any xenomorphs to mess up their way.

According to producer Ridley Scott, in an interview on Yahoo, production for Prometheus 2 is well under way. He said, "Right now, as we speak, it's being written. I've had 15 drafts evolving. I definitely want to do that again because I really enjoyed doing 'Prometheus'."

As for the xenomorphs,  "The beast is done. Cooked."

Scott went on, "I got lucky meeting Giger all those years ago. It's very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it's obscene. They didn't want to do it and I said, 'I want to do it, it's fantastic'. But after four [he has conveniently forgotten the 'AvP' movies], I think it wears out a little bit. There's only so much snarling you can do. I think you've got to come back with something more interesting. And I think we've found the next step. I thought the Engineers were quite a good start."

What will the sequel be about? No actual plot has been revealed yet, but Scott did discuss some spoilers about the film.

Spoiler alert: Scott teased, "You'll probably have to go with [Noomi Rapace's Elizabeth Shaw] and [Michael Fassbender's android David] - without his head. Find out how he gets his head back on!"

Scott is working on several other projects as well. He is currently part of the pre-production of the movie adaptation of the Andy Weir novel, "The Martian" with Matt Damon, and he has also recently met with Harrison Ford for a discussion of the "Blade Runner" Sequel, added Yahoo.

For "Blade Runner," Scott said that "It's on the charts. I can't say when that would be yet, because of [Ford's] thing with 'Star Wars'. It's a sequel - it's what happens next. It's quite surprisingly clever."

The Inquisitr  stated that with the number of projects in the works and with "Exodus: Gods and Kings" ready to hit theaters on December 26, Scott will probably take some time before revealing more of the "Prometheus" sequel. With a previous announcement from 20th Century Fox of an unspecified Ridley Scott feature, widely believed to be Prometheus 2, the movie could be set for a 2016 release.
