The much-anticipated Nexus 6 (may be called Nexus X) is set to be unveiled by Mid-October, but Google has yet to cut the price of the Nexus 5. A few online carriers, however, have started to sell the 5 at a discounted price, despite the fact that the price is still undiscounted at the Google Play Store.

Here are the possible specs for the new Nexus model, as reported by the International Business Times

It will have a 5.5-inch QHD display with a 1440x2560 resolution, an octa-core mediate processor, a 64-bit processor, a fingerprint scanner, and an IP67-certified dust-proof, water-resistant feature.

It is rumored to be produced by LG, which, according to IB Times, makes sense considering the same company has been responsible for Nexus 4 and 5, and will run on the yet-to-be-released Android L (aka Lollipop), with a 3100 mAh Li-Polymer battery.

TK Tech News on the other hand, claims that the X will be running on the Android 5 Lemon Meringue Pie instead. It is also said to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with a 2K display.

Other features include a curved LCD display, a lightweight polycarbonate body, with Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth 4.0 and LTE capabilities, as well as a micro-USB connectivity shot.

For Instagram users, it will come as a good news that the device is reported to have a 13-megapixel back camera and a 2-megapixel front camera - good for artistic shots and selfies as well.

The downside? No fingerprint sensor is listed on the specs list, though.

Gizmodo described the next model as a "lightweight LG G3" suggesting that whatever capabilities there are of the G3 will be in the Nexus 6 as well, with some reconfigurations.

Details regarding the next Nexus phone cannot be confirmed yet, though, although most reports claim that it is expected to launch by October 31.
