The Levi's Stadium in San Francisco witnessed possibly the worst upset in its history on September 14, and it was due to Colin Kaepernick's "meltdown," as USA Today put it.

Despite leading 20-7 at the start of the fourth quarter, the San Francisco 49ers lost steam in the final minutes of the game, eventually getting defeated by the Chicago Bears with a final score of 28-20.

USA Today added that the 49ers quarterback, Kaepernick, chucked the football away twice and was called for "inappropriate language" in the fourth quarter. As the Bears gained momentum in the fourth quarter, Kaepernick was obviously getting more frustrated. He was sacked four times and was even forced to rush nine times to total 66 yards.

Jay Cutler of the Bears took advantage of the situation and completed 13 of 14 throws in the second half. Cutler managed to convert Kaepernick's turnovers into touchdowns during the final quarter. In a report by Ninersnation.com, Cutler located Marshall three times in the red zone to go on an unanswered run. Marshall was an asset for the Bears and the 49ers, particularly, Jimmy Ward, did not offer much resistance to the large receiver, allowing the Bears to rally 21 points in the fourth quarter. Cutler threw 176 yards in all and four touchdowns. He also led the team in rushes, albeit with only 25 yards.

Coming into the game, the 49ers were the stronger team but they were terrible in the second half, coupled with Kaepernick's bad decisions. The 49ers should learn from their mistakes. According to Yahoo! Sports, the next games will determine how well Kaepernick can maintain his composure under pressure and hold on to the ball against more powerful opponents like the Seattle Seahawks. Coach Jim Harbaugh of the 49ers will also learn not to take penalty flags lightly the next time. The two teams had 26 penalties total, with 16 coming from San Francisco.

It was Chicago's first win on the road against San Francisco in 29 years. On the other hand, Levi's Stadium has yet to see its first victory.
