WWE Raw Results Aug 4: SummerSlam 2014 Hype Heightens

Monday Night Raw featured a variety of verbal slurs that build up the momentum towards SummerSlam 2014, which has been slated for the middle of August 2014.

On August 4, at the Frank Erwin Events Center in Austin, Texas, the event started with HHH announcing to fans that they can watch SummerSlam for only $9.99 and shared how proud he is of himself for putting together such a great card. In a report by Cageside Seats, HHH also hyped up Rollins and Ambrose followed by John Cena versus Brock Lesnar.

The first match is between Roman Reigns and Kane. Reigns responded to the challenge of Randy Orton but the two will have to wait for SummerSlam. Reigns and Kane fought in a Last Man Standing match. The highlight came when Kane attempted to slam Reigns onto a chair but Reigns countered with a DDT onto the same chair. Reigns attempted the spear but was caught by Kane with a chokeslam attempt. He freed himself and successfully lands a spear on Kane. Reigns won by ten counts.

The next fight featured Damien Sandow versus Mark Henry. Henry won via the World's Strongest Slam then the pinfall.

In a Beat the Clock Challenge between Dean Ambrose and ADR, Ambrose tried a counter slam but only managed two counts. ADR attempted an arm bar in the middle of the ring but Ambrose was able to counter using Dirty Deeds and won the match.

Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler also fought with Cesaro doing a delayed vertical suplex. Ziggler countered it and did the Zig-Zag for a victory. Miz enters the ring after the match and taunted Ziggler.

In an article by Bleacher Report, Heath Slater and Seth Rollins also went for a Beat The Clock Match. Ambrose appears from the crowd to let Slater almost garner a victory via a neckbreaker. Ambrose took Rollins' Money in the Bank contract out of the briefcase then tears it in two. Ambrose continued to pour a drink and some popcorn to ruin the briefcase. Slater finally rolled up Rollins to win the match.

Chris Jericho and Luke Harper also fought on Monday Night Raw with Jericho winning via disqualification. The Wyatt Family entered the ring and Jericho was crushed.

The matches continued to increase the anticipation of fans for SummerSlam 2014. Stephanie McMahon and Nikki are also expected to face each other after Stephanie did the Pedigree on both Nikki and Brie.
